eMAR window will now include a new option to allow users selecting a prescription of medications already delivered by Inpatient Pharmacy and to return these items back to them for their correction.

This action delivers these products back into the Pharmacy warehouse with a follow-up document that must be received by pharmacists, letting them know all of those warehouse inventory movements and to validate them.

Here below we will show you how to return these delivered medications back to Pharmacy and how to validate their return to inventory, if you are a pharmacist.

Pharmacists:

  1. Prepare Doses

Go to Pharmacy Dashboard and select the medications you would like to prepare:

Set the medication brand, mark the amount to be prepared and Save.

  2. Deliver Doses

Once you have prepared the medications, deliver them to nursing staff for their administration:

    Confirm delivery and Save.

    Nurses:

  3. Mark as Held

Select your patient, go to eMAR to check scheduled medications and follow these steps:

    a. Check the box next to the medication you would like to return to Pharmacy warehouse

    b. Click context menu and then Held to mark this medication as held.

  4. Confirmation of Products Return

You can confirm this warehouse movement in Movement Confirmation window by entering date ranges and document number. Then selecting the product and entering quantities received.

Until now, the medication will be held from being administered but it will not be brought back to their original warehouse until it has been marked as discontinued and verified by pharmacists as received (via Material returning report).

This material return can also be performed in Pharmacist Dashboard :

We hope this improves your Cirrus experience. Remember to share this information and ask for help if you need it. Date: April 18, 2022.
