You can now add generic drugs to packages configuration without having to select brands of products . This to allow you to assign generic drugs instead of only one brand of medications. Therefore, it will not matter which patent drug is charged to the patient encounter the package relation will consider it as being the same active drug.
To activate this process, first we must configurate it for your organization:
Part 1: Configuration
Go to Configuration of Medical Record and select Enable generic drugs in packages checkbox.
2. Save.
To request this configuration, request it via ticket or chat and we will perform it on your organization.
2. Set drug as generic drug
Only brand medications that are set as generic drugs can be applied for packages, to do so, you must check the Generic drug box in Product Maintenance (Charge Master II) while registering a new product in General Data tab:
Save your changes after entering all of the drug information.
3. Create Package
I. Package Configuration
To create a package for products and services, first you must create one Package product, here you can enter prices, amounts, VAT rules, UOM, categories and insurance coverage data for products. For packages, create a new product in Charge Master II (only admin users) , enter the package name and in General Data select Package for both Type of Product and Product Category and in Minimum UOM select Each.
After completing filling this information, click Save. You will see a confirmation message:
II. Create Package and version
Now go to Package and Version window and create a new record:
Enter Value name, Package name and Save:
Now, add a version (plus icon). Enter Service name (Package from Product Maintenance),enter Version, mark as Active and set Valid Date. Save.
To add products, click context menu and select View package detail:
Now mark Drug checkbox to activate the generic drugs search and enter generic name for drugs. This will preload fields for products with product maintenance information: UOM and the new fields for Strength, Active substance and Route. To add click the plus icon and repeat this process as many times you require.
To go back to adding services, uncheck the Drug box.
4. Apply Package on Encounter
To apply packages, go to Current Encounters, perform a search for existing encounters* and select it.
Now follow these steps:
Click context menu and select Package
2. Enter Package name
3. Click add and repeat this process to add more packages
4. Save
You will see now that packages are running in the background:
After Cirrus has completed the process for packages, you will see another confirmation message.
You can check that package was successfully charged for Multibilling in this example:
Notes:
To apply packages on encounters make sure to perform this action before creating any invoices for the encounter.
