  1. Solving errors in saving policy information

When policy information was not saved correctly, you will see this message on Encounter header for windows where this information is shown : Error in saving policy information.

This may be due to any of the following reasons :

  • Insurance company does not exist / No longer exists.

  • Policy does not exist / No longer exists.

  • No policy was assigned.

It is important to fix this issue since it will cause errors while calculating deductibles in Multibilling. To do so, follow these steps where we will assign them a valid policy :

  1. Go to Patient Registration, look for your patient and select Insurance Information tab :

2. Select current policy assigned :

3. Change Major Company (if required). If Major Company is the same, skip to step 4.

4. Now add valid Insurance data (Minor Company, Policy Type, Policy Number, Member ID).

5. Save changes.

If your patient has any current extensions with charges, you will need to follow these steps :

6. Select encounters that must be recalculated.

7. Confirm.

This process will recalculate the extensions for these selected encounters.

Now go to Multibilling window. Now encounter header will display the insurance information.

If you must calculate discounts for the extension, now go to Deductible and Discounts tab, click on Copy policy discounts :

This will create the deductible amounts (in Charges) that correspond with the current policy :

Now you can view the total amounts with their corresponding deductibles :
