Unlock patient encounter rules for IT personnel - Only for ECS Staff and IT Personnel

Notice : This window is for ECS Staff and IT Admins only.

Unlocking patient encounters is recommended only in strictly necessary cases - such as abrupt closure of the browser - and not when another user is using this patient account.

We have a window called Unlock Patient Accounts, which allows you to unlock the use of patient accounts that appear as being used by other users at this time in any Cirrus window.

However, this unlocking is not recommended in cases where two users can make movements of the patient account but in cases where there were abrupt closures and you need to use the patient encounter.

That is why this encounter appears in gray in the Unlock Patient Encounters screen and you will not be able to unlock it until 15 minutes have passed, in order to avoid giving permission to two users to edit the same encounter data.

Note:

Staff users will be able to unlock them at any time but they must take the considerations mentioned above to prevent two users from making movements in the same patient encounter (charges, collections).
