ECS staff can configure the See closed encounters (request it via ticket or chat) in Configuration of Medical Record, which allows users to view closed patient encounters in the encounter search to view their information. In addition, subsequent charges may be generated to the encounter if required.

This configuration can go hand in hand with the Days of see closed encounter setting, where if a number of allowed days is established, that will be the limit of days to view closed patient accounts. If it is set as 0 then every closed encounter starting from 2020 will appear.

If this check is activated, the patient encounter search will also show those closed patient encounters in the results (in italics):

If disabled, users will be able to view only those open patient encounters:

When this button is disabled users will not be able to generate new patient charges since their encounters will no longer appear.
