We have improved the prescription process, allowing physicians to prescribe products that are not generic drugs but that must be prepared and delivered by pharmacists just like generic drugs. This will allow you to easily search and add orders for products like medical supplies to patient prescription. See the details below.

The following windows were impacted by this enhancement :

In Appointment Process (Medical Schedule window, after starting a consultation process), you will be able to see this type of products while creating a CPOE order in Plan & Evaluation tab.

In our example, we have searched for a Syringe 5cc that must be delivered in pharmacy. To do so, select Rx (for Drugs), enter the product name and fill every missing filed such as the Filled at pharmacy box.

This product order will be sent to pharmacy for their delivery.

Also, in Orders option from Physician Dashboard, you will see this type of products (Medical Supplies and Other Drugs ). We repeated the same search for Syringe 5cc in Medication :

After that we filled the product information and saved.

This product order will appear in Pharmacy Dashboard. Pharmacists must now select this order to prepare the products for their delivery :

In this example, instead of selecting a brand, we selected the product inventory (this is not a brand drug) and then set the quantity to supply from lots :

Discharge Medications window will also include this type of products once configured. We repeated the same search for Syringe 5cc :

This order will be added just like any generic drugs :

After creating the order, pharmacists will receive it for this product :

These products can be prepared and delivered just like generic drugs :

And charges will be sent to Multibilling window:

In order to view product classes in CPOE search of drugs, you will need to add the Product Class code as in our example below (OD = Other Drugs, MS = Medical Supplies) :

Only products with the added product classes will be displayed on Medication search.

In our example, our product is a Syringe 5cc that belongs to the Medical Supplies (MS) product class :

Product classes are assigned in Charge Master II (Product Maintenance)* window :

This window is not for Clinical personnel and any change on products must be requested via ticket or chat.

If they do not have yet one assigned, you will see the following error :

If you require to create a new product classification for the client, go to Product Classification and enter their information. Save and re-enter Cirrus to apply changes.

Also, for automatic duration (0 Duration) for these products, you must have a Max. Automatic Duration configured for this product classification in Automatic Stop Policy window :

If any product or their classification does not have it yet configured, you will see the following error :
