PRN (Pro-Re-Nata) Drugs are those medications that must be administered only if necessary so if physicians do not clarify the reason of when these drugs should be administered, they will leaving this decision to their Nursing staff criteria. In order to prevent this and to give more details to the nursing staff about PRN drugs, we have added a new validation in Orders (Medications tab) that will make mandatory to enter Indications for this prescribed medication if it is set as PRN :
If users try to save this PRN order without entering Indications, they will see the following error :
