In order to follow good practices given by The Joint Commission regarding high reliability of health care services, we have now improved both Pharmacy Dashboard and Outpatient Pharmacy Dashboard screens for displaying whole numerical quantities when these quantities do not include decimals (fractions).
Example :
If the physician prescribed one (1) tablet with 500MG, we will display :
1 tablet w/500 MG
instead of
1.00 tablet w/500 MG.
See the impact on each pharmacy dashboard :
Pharmacy Dashboard
If you enter a patient order, you will now see the new format (without decimals) in the list of medications prescribed to this patient :
The same quantities will be kept in Prepare Doses order information :
Also the Dispensed Medications pop-up window will display whole quantities in Dose and Dispensed columns :
And if you go to Prepare Doses option for the delivery of these drugs, you will see that the whole quantities do not include decimals :
Outpatient Pharmacy Dashboard
If you go to Outpatient Pharmacy Dashboard and the patient has prescribed drugs with whole quantities (e.g. 1 tablet), you will see that their doses will display these quantities without decimals in the list of medications :
Same in Deliver Meds option, Quantity section :
Also, the Dispensed Medications section will display dose information without decimals :
Notes :
There is an upcoming release that will also apply this enhancement to other clinical screens.
We hope this improves your Cirrus experience. Remember to share this information and ask for help if you need it.
