In order to follow good practices given by The Joint Commission regarding high reliability of health care services, we have now improved list options from both Physician Dashboard and Nurse Dahsboard for displaying whole numerical quantities when these quantities do not include decimals (fractions).

Example :

If the physician prescribed one (1) tablet with 500MG, we will display in the lists the following :

1 tablet w/500 MG

instead of

1.00 tablet w/500 MG.

Note :

This enhancement will only apply to the list of medications and not to the input sections.

See how it impacts in all of the following options from both Physician Dashboard and Nurse Dashboard.

The options are all of the following in both Physician and Nurse Dashboard :

  • Orders

  • Home Medication

  • Discharge Medications (Available only in Physician Dashboard)

  • eMAR

Orders

If you have any active medication orders, you will see how their dose will now display whole quantities when they're whole numbers and not decimals (1 instead of 1.00) :

Same in Modify option :

And in both Active Orders option and Active Orders report :

Home Medication

Same in the list of medications of the Home Medication option, where whole quantities will not include decimals :

Discharge Medications

And in the Discharge Medications option :

CPOE report that appears in windows such as Discharge Medications, Medical Schedule and Prescription were already including rounded up quantities for whole doses :

eMAR

The eMAR option from both dashboards will also display rounded quantities when doses are in whole UOM instead of decimals in all Scheduled, PRN and Held sections :

And in Active Orders :

We hope this improves your Cirrus experience. Remember to share this information and ask for help if you need it.
