Now, pharmacists can prepare multidose medications by following Stability Time data that can be added on drugs for safety and health reasons. This will automatically prepare doses according to expected UOM expiration dates and to deliver them accordingly. Here's how this improvement will affect every window involved :

Charge Master II :

Charge Master II (Product Maintenance) has a Storage Requirements section for drugs, allowing Charge Master users to enter Light Protection, Storage Temperature and Stability Time data. Stability now will be considered while preparing multidose products :

See more about Storage specifications here:

In our example we will use a Stability time of 24 hours so any preparation will be set accordingly. In this case, our physician has set an order where our patient will have to take this medication every 12 hours so there must be two orders per UOM prepared.

Pharmacy Dashboard :

While preparing multidose medications you will see that whenever you enter the medication brand, multidose checkbox will appear filled. Also you must see Stability time and other info for Storage Requirements :

Doses will be assigned accordingly. In Prepare Doses you can also change Preparation date so Expiration date will adapt to it automatically :

This information will also appear on labels printed for this encounter.

Notes :

  • Products must be marked as multidose in Charge Master II

  • Hours set for stability must be between 0-24 hr standards

We hope this improves your Cirrus experience. Remember to share this information and ask for help if you need it.
