Authentication Upgrade in Discharge and Other Forms

Notice :

This upgrade depends on having active the Authenticate forms by user checkbox. If turned off, users will not be required to manually select the user who authenticates forms while completing them. See more details in this article.



We have now improved the Discharge form and other forms workflow in order to keep the username of those users who are involved during these processes and to prevent any medico-legal issues due to any lack of given information. Also, by improving this process we improve the communcation between areas and simplify the authentication of forms.

This enhancement was made considering the Discharge Form behavior but it will impact in the same way to any other forms that your organization works with. See more details :

The usual current flow of Discharge form is as follows, it might work the same for any other forms :

1) Nurse or any physician user creates the form in Discharge option.

2) Physician in charge can Authenticate this form in Worklist window. This user can also view it or edit it by selecting the search option next to the Summary.

But now, these users can also authenticate this form after reviewing it in our new authentication button that will only be visible if accessed by phyisicians from Worklist :

3) This same physician can complete it and save it. Any other physician can also do this process.

From this same window, users can also verify the user who authenticates and complete this process with their own user :

If you check the complete icon and select the user who authenticates, you will now see a new message letting users know that the user who authenticates is different. Click Yes to confirm :

And if this form was not yet authenticated (see authentication buttons from above), you will see a message letting you know that this form is not approved yet. Click Yes to confirm :

If you print the report (Discharge Instructions Report), you will see that the user who created this report will be kept, the user who authenticates will be respected and will not replace any other fields and the user who completes this process will be sent directly to our database (not visible on report) :

  • To enter Worklist for physicians, it is required that any user must have a Physician user (Physician window) :

This option will automatically be configured after creating a physician for this user and will appear in Activities (Home screen) after logging back in to Cirrus.

When this user enters Cirrus, they must enter it from Activities section in their Home screen:

There is another option called Worklist that can be accessed from Cirrus search but this option is not the physician simplified version where they can check any pending documents and processes but a list of every patient where users can view their documents and processes by clicking them. This form can be added to the Role as a form.
